The Asthma Toolbox

This activity is brought to you by AzAAP and is designed to enhance pediatric professional competence in evaluating and treating pediatric asthma in the emergency department by providing a review of strategies for successful analysis of symptoms and risk stratification, in addition to a review of existing treatments and their use cases. It is also designed to help pediatric professionals acquire skills and increase confidence in managing asthma, to ensure the best possible outcomes for pediatric patients.

MOC Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 1 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

If you are a board-certified pediatrician seeking American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) MOC Part 2 points, you must take and pass the MOC post-test shared via email after the conclusion of the series. The CME activity provider will submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit. Eligibility for MOC Part 2 points includes:

Successful completion of the CME course Pediatric Asthma Management in the Emergency Department, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessment and feedback to the learner, enables the participant to earn 1.00 MOC points. For MOC credit, participants will be asked to complete a post-quiz (based on the content of the live activities) after the conclusion of the webinar. Learners will be provided with up to three opportunities to take and pass the electronic post-test containing a series of multiple-choice questions which correspond with the educational content of the course. Participants must successfully complete the post activity quiz with a minimum passing score of 75% or higher to receive MOC credit for this activity. Upon submission of the quiz and verification of the 75% minimum passing score requirement, participants will be granted credit.

In order to support the professional needs of its members, the AzAAP Continuing Medical Education (CME) program develops, maintains, and improves the competence, skills, and professional performance of pediatricians and pediatric healthcare professionals by providing quality, relevant, accessible, and effective educational experiences that address gaps in professional practice. The AzAAP CME program strives to meet the educational needs of pediatricians and pediatric healthcare professionals and support their lifelong learning with a goal of improving care for children and families.

The “AzAAP Policy on Disclosure of Financial Relationships and Mitigation of Conflicts of Interest for AzAAP CME Activities” is designed to ensure quality, objective, balanced, and scientifically rigorous AzAAP provided or jointly provided CME activities by identifying and mitigating all potential conflicts of interest prior to the confirmation of service of those in a position to influence and/or control CME content.
