NON CME RECORDING: ECHO Session 9: Eating Disorder Care for Primary Care Medical Professionals

This presentation will discuss how to manage eating disorders for primary care providers as well as recommendations for the appropriate level of care for each eating disorder based on physical, behavioral, and psychiatric criteria. The session will review the steps needed to create a comprehensive treatment plan for patients with eating disorders and address considerations for including other professionals within the team to provide patient recommendations. The session will finish with suggested professionals and resources to assist with patient care.

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to: 

• Confidently recommend which level of care a patient would benefit from based on specific criteria for each of the eating disorder diagnoses
• Create a comprehensive treatment plan for patients that have eating disorders including identifying which other professionals may need to be part of the care team
• Identify providers in Arizona for therapy, dietary services, and psychiatry that are great partners with primary care physicians to help treat patients with eating disorders
