Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. List possible etiologies of feeding disturbances other than behavioral causes: Eosinophilic Esophagitis, GERD.
  2. List various different approaches to managing acute and chronic constipation.
  3. Recognize the role of food elimination diets in ASD and give an example of when it would be appropriate to institute such a diet.
  4. Review the AAP Consensus Guidelines in Autistic patients and GI complications and utilize these guidelines in practice when caring for autistic patients.
